can you tell if any of them are holding hands? or are they having a wedding and carrying around like beads of rice (babies)? And are they inside or outside? Are they in the kitchen or where?
If they are holding hands (going in a row from one place to the next) then follow them and see what they are after and remove that product, sweet, food or whatever. They will stop coming around once the product they like has been removed.
If they are in a group then you have more of a problem. There are small ant houses (just like roach motels) that the ants visit and chew on and die. There are things like Raid for ants, or a product called House and Garden which is a spray for all kinds of bugs and will get ants as well. You don't need much of either spray. But don't spray it around food, pets or children and remember that spray does spread out when you spray it. Some people say salt works. For outdoors I simply wash the cement with ordinary detergent and water. The soap gives all bugs diarrhea so they leave.

Its not super super cheap, but it is a miracle!!! It costs $14 at Walmart or anywhere. Its called AMADOR Ant Block. I had huge black ants everywhere and and it worked in a couple days... ants will eat it and bring it back to their nest so the queen eats it and then their colony dies. I was very impressed when it actually worked. Try it

Old fashioned "ant powder" found in the home and garden department of you local store. You sprinkle a little on the ants and it sticks to them and they take the poison back to the nest, killing many more or the remainder.

We had ants really bad lately to, but my mom heard that if you put a small lemon wedge down where there are alot of ants that they will go away..so we tried it and it worked!! Not sure how....but it worked great. Also, you can buy cheap "ant traps" or spray to kill ants.

pour boiling water over them if its easy to do so
I had a problem with ants in my pantry once they smelled the jar of honey in there!
Once I wiped them away I then cut a lemon in half and left the half lemon in the pantry just sitting on the shelf ......no more ants!

Cornstarch.......CHEAP and available everywhere.Ants eat it and it expands in their digestive systems killing them. They will also carry it back to the nest and others will eat it and die.Sprinkle it along baseboards or where you see them regularly.......I'm not kidding here! No muss, no fuss, no chemicals or smell...........
