All the border between us is doing now is protecting their country from being flooded with our people, culture, and institutions. Sure, we'll probably end up with the kind of Senators that Alaska and Idaho keep sending us, but we've survived that. We can handle another six or seven new states from south of the Rio Grande. None of this penny-ante Rhode Island or Delaware nonsense, though.

The problem is not that we will annex Mexico. We captured Mexico, and Mexico City, 160 years ago, and gave all of it back but CA, NM and AZ. In the last 60 years, we have given amnesty (or tried to give amnesty) to 60 million Mexican and Latin American illegal immigrants. Along with that, Latino families traditionally have higher birth rates than non-Latinos.

In an nation of some 250 million people, Mexico will soon annex us. Latinos will be the majority, or plurality, racial group in the US in 100 years, if we continue the same immigration and birth patterns. When that happens, we may as well change the name of the US to North Mexico.

I saw a leftist Mexican activist on TV recently. Speaking at a public shool in the US, she made the statement that "we did not cross the border, the border crossed us. We were here before the US border, and we'll be here after it's gone."

Immigration control is a vital issue and must be taken seriously.

I guess if Nafta were all that I thought it was going to be, that would be the same. At least then the people in Mexico could live and work there instead of having to cross a desert and a river to get to work. Who knows though. Seems like with a lot of things, the more work you put into it, the more work it wants out of you. Start babysitting a country and pretty soon they don't do anything for themselves and just live off the daycare provider. Thats what I worry about. Basically, it would be like things are today but minus a lot of people here illegally. We'd still pay for their lively hood at the cost of our own.

The state of Texas replaced into annexed from the rustic of Texas. not from the rustic of Mexico Your forgetting Texas won that is independence from Mexico while they kicked Santa Anna's butt in 1836.yet while we did annex Mexico I say we could desire to continually turn it right into a giant vacationer spot / worldwide waste disposal website, yet we could desire to continually nevertheless build a giant wall on the border basically for the sake of displaying our destiny generations that this replaced right into a place that no one wanted.

Mexico is a country with millions of inhabitants, its own cultural integrity, an economy and government of its own and does not necessarily want to be part of the U.S. A nation does not just annex other major countries. Mexico also has many of its citizens living in poverty. As a U.S. taxpayer, I do not want the additional expenses of providing services for them. The days of rampant imperialism are over.
