My favorite Pink Floyd CD? Well, my favorite Pink Floyd LP would have to be 'Atom Heart Mother'. My favorite song is 'The Nile Song'.

I liked them a lot back in the day, but they were played to death during my youth. I was a huge Pink Floyd fan many years ago. I still love them and understand their merit etc, I just get bored really quick when I hear them, and you will too someday.
Once the boredom of Floyd, Zeppelin, Hendrix and Sabbath crept in, I started discovering other bands of that genre in the early 70's like 'Gong' , Edgar Broughton Band',
'Amon Duul II', 'Camel', 'Lucifers Friend', 'Focus', 'Atomic Rooster', 'Nektar', 'Far Out Family Band' 'Gentle Giant', 'Hawkwind', and a wide assortment of progressive rock and hard rock bands to large to mention.
The only Pink Floyd albums I can really listen to without getting bored these days is 'Obscured by Clouds', 'Atom Heart Mother', and 'Meddle', or some of their earlier stuff with Syd. I have a beautiful original pressing of 'Obscured' on the EMI/Harvest label with the rounded corners cover and it sound f*cking incredible on my turntable. Way better than my CD version. I still own all of their albums on vinyl, and some are still sealed! I have several copies of 'Dark Side of the Moon', UK and Canadian pressings that came with the two posters, and the two stickers. Two are still sealed. I even own a couple sealed pressings of 'Wish You Were Here' that were wrapped in black cellophane when it was originally released in 1975. You couldn't see the cover, or the track listings, just a small round sticker in the upper left corner telling you what you were buying. Pink Floyd marketing genius?
I actually bought all their albums on CD back in the early 90's thinking I might enjoy hearing them again...I was wrong. There are many bands from that era that I still really enjoy listening to, but sadly Pink Floyd are not one of them. I don't know why. Maybe it's because they were so commercial? And I don't mean 'commercial' in the sense of top 40 singles, but rather 'commercial' in the sense of album sales.
I'd have to say the Pink Floyd LP I care the least for nowadays would be 'Dark Side of the Moon', though it was in my top 10 up until around 1975 or so I think.
Dark Side, The Wall, Animals and the rest are really left for the younger people of today just discovering the band. I totally understand why you enjoy it so much. I did also when it was something new. It's almost like watching a re-run of 'Family Guy' over and over for me now, and that sucks after a few times!.
Been there...done that! Enjoy it while you still can!

**shouts** "Is there anybody out there? Just nod if you can hear me..... "

You know that is just so wrong making me choose a favorite?? *sigh* I love "Dark Side of the Moon." However, my favorite song will always be "Wish You Were Here." (For more than musical reasons)

But as far as favorite conceptual album...... it would have to be "The Wall." ♫Vera, what has become of you now?♫ Just the whole concept of watching his youth..... hope.... isolation.... and then "The Show!" I think my favorite line will always be.... ♫since, my friend, you have revealed your deepest fears, I sentence you to be exposed before your peers♫ And then of course.......... "the wall" comes down. I just loved the whole concept of the album...... the story...... And the music made for some crazy college nights laying around just getting lost in it when I wasn't getting analytical about it. lol

40 years of Pink Floyd. Wow indeed!! (thanks guys for literally filling my lifetime with music!)

I don't really have a favorite CD, but my favorite Pink Floyd song is a toss-up between 'Wish You Were Here' and this live version of 'Run Like Hell' that's on one of their live albums; it figures that I can't get the video because YouTube is down...*sigh*.....I don't know my Pink Floyd discography as well as I should...

I'm sure I'm going to say the same thing as everyone else here, but my favorite CD is of course, The Wall. My favorite song is 'Mother'. hard to pick, though- because the whole damn album is awesome!

FYI-- if you love The Wall, you should check out The Polyphonic Symphony. They kind of remind me of Pink Floyd.
