of course this is not too popular an idea since its horrific and dastardly, but think about ww 2. how many innocent people were killed there to just to put an end to this and keep more people from dying in the future.
Aside from being the holy land for 3 religions, the middle east has been the most embroiled region of the world since ever, death murder and torture always has a home in the middle east. I realize there are so many reasons to not consider this, but how about just for argument the reasons FOR it, first off you destroy all the oil and force us to look for alternative environmental methods, (despite irradiating a large portion of the world) and you destroy all the money profiteering going on in the war. in a way you scrape the wound clean theoretically instead of leaving it to fester for the rest of earths existence. how much suffering do we need to see, how much risk do we need to face before something is done. Humanity is important, but where was that in WW2, priorities.

race plays no role in this, did it in Japan? the bottom line is, death is happening a lot, and keeps happening, no one wants to do something drastic, and im not even saying this has to be done, but it should be brought up at least, and i think soon enough it might be. think about the terrorist threat as well, how long are you going to leave a time bomb ticking in Iran, we cant just barge in like we did in iraq ...

leilasuliman - i agree with some of your pts but No, the world has not moved on since WWII, we have gotten WORSE, please, open your eyes. the america of 1945 was WAY better than the america today and if you argue that then idk what to say. We have reached a level where we are stooping to the level of terrorists by torturing and invading countries to fight for freedom or to exterminate communism, no we havent gotten better, so why cant we just stop being so hypocritcal and do something about this ongoing deathpool

there has to be a reason for not wanting to get rid of the oil though so you admit that much, so obviously you understand that this is not a realistic proposal but a though provoking exercise. I just dont think personally that you turn your back on the region, you either solve it right, or etch a sketch it, and since we cant do #1, what is left?

What about the environmental consequences of this on the rest of the world?pollution, loss of habitat of wildlife?global warming?not to mention the economical consequences some of the richest countries in the world are in the middle east,do you think non of that money is invested in the western world? before bombing the middle east, would you order all arabs to return to their homelands in order to perform the ethnic cleansing?or would you just displace millions of men women and children?Arabs are people too, no matter what the differences, and may I remind you that the world has moved on a lot since the days of WW2! So..I vote against dropping nuclear weapons on the entire middle east region!
******* In response, the America of today may well be a lot worse than the America of 1945, but what has that got to do with the Middle East? America is the way it is because of its own,-drugs,guns and poverty. the terror threat has increased in the west due to "we know best"attitude of prominant world leaders such as Bush and Blair.Entering these countries all guns blazing. The truth is we are all sucked up by the media and believe the hype.. All war and terror is wrong, but two wrongs dont make it right.ur average joe blogg arab is not a terrorist, nor do they condone the act of war or terror so why should a whole continent suffer? Would it not be better to just withdraw from Iraq and Afganistan and Israel etc and leave them to get on with it?..i'm sure the world would be a more peaceful place if America and Britain didn't insist on projecting their dominance over others!...oh did I mention oil?..hm..like the west would ever give up on that little gold mine!!! :-)
the west buys oil at a fraction of a price of which it is sold on as, to get rid of the middle east will mean a lot of fat cats going hungry.Iraq is drowning in oil, yet many people don't even have electricity. We all, as westerners benefit from the middle east and also benefit from the war in the middle east, by keeping them vulnerable and weak on all levels so that we can take advantage of their misfortune. I understand this is a theoretical question, but my points have been to raise awareness that it is not right to generalise an entire race, nation or continent.Especially when a lot of their actions are in retalliation to the terrible hardships put on them, that we in the west could never even begin to comprehend. Interfering with middle eastern pollitics has increased our own security threat. U cannot inforce western mentality in an Eastern environment, any well travelled person can tell you that, so of course middle easterners will rebel! u trap an animal in a corner and it will attack..It doesnt make it right, and it doesnt mean they are totally to blame..

No. It would not solve anything. There are more places to get oil so that would not help. Blowing it up wouldnt help it just play everyone over their region into martyers and cause more backlash than what was there to start with. Terriosts would cause chaos. U.N. would cause more chaos and so on ........... It would be a bad domino effect.

I would still have to vote no..........and the reason why is that there are too many countries developing nuclear weapons and the possibility of a counter attack on U.S soil would far outweigh any reason to drop the bomb. Plain and simple
