Because when you say the words "Universal Health Care", they automatically assume you are talking about "Universal medicaid" because that is what right-wing gossip has programed them to think.
A universal health care program utilizing private insurance providers would save California a ton of tax dollars. It will greatly reduce the money they are already spending for the welfare version of health care coverage, as well as it would all states.

Because unlike in Canada and Europe americans think they need a CT scan for every ailment. In these countries expensive tests simply are not available or are rationed only to people that need them. Americans would have to accept less than they expect for a financially solvent socialist healthcare plan. Summarily its doomed at a grass roots level. Does everyone with back pain need an MRI? Some think so even though there is no evidence to support such a claim. Doctors are basically compelled to give these things out because there is a 0.01% chance they are wrong and in other countries its listed as an oh well or the scan is delayed until its an oh well. Here its a lawsuit.

California was in the red over $500 milliion again this year. It makes no sense to provide free health care to undocumented people.
Even San Francisco's liberal newspaper thinks it is a bad idea.

The fact government wishes to get further involved in health care is an indication it will run less efficiently than it currently does...and that's the best-cast scenario.

I think it is easier than reading to find out all the details, spouting off with negative comments is much easier for some.
It is a shame, they really miss out on knowing the facts.

Maybe you haven't been following CA's budget fight but the Reps and Dems in CA are so polarized they wouldn't be able to agree on the time of day. This practically kills any proposal from the Governor...even if it was perfect.
