Arnold may be the only Republican with common sense, and he is tremendously popular in California since he dropped the Party line! It isn't that his wife is a Democrat, it's that Arnold is an intelligent man with compassion and wisdom, realizing that there is nothing wrong with dropping the bad ideas and backing the good ideas. And he is absolutely right.
Whether it is Environmental issues or the Gay issue, Arnold makes the right choice. California is a decidedly Democratic state, and now the Republicans are breaking their back to change that by breaking up the districts to make it impossible for a Democrat to win there.
They dislike Arnold because they thought he would be an obedient party man, but he fooled them. He is not radical in his beliefs, believes in the rights of women, has made an effort to cut back on carbon emissions....and many other issues the diehard NeoCons sneer upon.
Frankly, I was also impressed by Patricia Kennedy Schwarzenegger when she came to the Democratic Convention, then also attended the Republican Convention. I think the two of them symbolize the fact that we are all Americans together, and should put the interests of our people first, Republican and Democrat and everyone inbetween!

Only if he shows extreme greed for himself and his buddies. If he is deceitful and pushes his own hidden agenda! If he has run a propaganda machine to promote "patriotism" (virtually, by LAW), from the masses while ignoring their true intentions.Has he exhibited these republican traits? if SO, THEN HE'S A REPUBLICAN.

He is trying to get his party back from the far right cliff. Republicans just love their perceived enemies. Gays, Terrorists, Liberals, Abortion, Religion under attack, Immigrants, etc.. This is the party that didn't want woman to vote and did not want blacks to vote. They have only moved on to their next 'threat'.

By definition -- he is a registered member of the Republican party, and has received nominations by that party for his office.
So, by definition, yes.
Whether he has the same beliefs and agendas as all other Republicans -- assuming they all think the same (which is a pretty invalid assumption) -- or even whether he follows all the planks of the Republican party platform -- that's an independent and very different question.

I don't really care as long as he takes care of business and does the job.
As my "Governator" I love him. . . . .and I trust him. He's not given me any reason not to yet which is a lot more than most can say of their state governors.
