The least amount of time you could serve would be no time, but that's going to mean somehow proving it was a dreadful accident or that you were defending yourself against this guy with his back to you. That's going to be tough. You're screwed. Get a lawyer.

Depending on the circumstances, you may not serve at all. You may not be charged. You may not be convicted if charged. On the other hand, you may not MAKE it safely to jail. Sometimes 'things' happen on the way to jail.
