So rumor is Ray Nagin is going to try to run in a political campaign and try to be governor of our good ole state of LA. How do you all feel about that? I personally think the fool needs a reality check and good slap across the face to knock some sense into him. What he doesn't know yet is that even though NO voted him in for mayor again (for some unkown reason), the rest of the state REALLY don't think too kindly of him. I really hope he doesn't do it. It will make our state look even more crooked than it already does.

To Crabby Blindguy - who said anything about not voting for him because he's black? There are plenty of other reasons other than that to not vote for him. And just so you know, in the last election, I voted for Bobby Jindal, as I will in this one. So......I guess the name really fits you, huh.

Let us HOPE he is not elected to higher office. I don't have a lot of respect for anyone who hid out under Harrah's in the lap of luxury while his town drowned.......
But then again, I'm cafe au lait and not choclate.

I know I live in Texas now but I moved here five years ago from a 15 yr. stay in Louisiana. (Hence, the name)
A lot of ppl will disagree with you on this one. Nagin was passionately begging anyone to help the citizens of NOLA during a desperate situation. He was seen as a hero to many and no one except the ppl around him know what he did and did not do that, in fact, helped. Nagins (and Blanco's) hands were tied by the Bush Administration and FEMA's inept attempts to help. For as long as I have lived and visited in Louisiana, everyone always talked and talked and talked about the 'big one'. Problem is, no one DID anything other than talk. When the real deal hit, there was no communication, little advanced planning and utter chaos on the 'outside' trying to get in to help. I cant help but think NOLA will never be the same place it once was.

It was always nagin's long-term plan to win in new orleans, then move on to governor eventually. Career politicians work up the ladder just like people with "real" jobs do. However, politicians are not judged on performance or effectiveness or "job well done" like people with real jobs are. They are judged by how good they are at prostituting themselves to the right people, while putting on a nice smile for the cameras.
If the people want to risk going to bed with this especially sleazy prostitute, they deserve the STD they get.

I feel horrible about it but hopefully Jindal will prevail. It's going to be close because the majority of people in this state are looking for a free ride and he and the rest of his party are handing out tickets for the "free" ride that is paid for by the taxpayers.

I completely agree with you. What our state needs is Bobby Jindal, a honest, intelligent, selfless leader. =)
I sure hope Nagin doesn't run. He will rack up the minority votes, which might hurt Bobby's chances...

I may be way off base on this one but I don't believe he was reelected honestly and I don't think he will ever succeed in getting the govenorship unless it to is rigged! Same with the govenor you have now. I'm from the North and I think the citizens in Louisiana have nothing to do with what goes on in their goverment and that there are many fine people living there. It's plain and simple the goverment. I honestly believe we have a whole lot of dishonesty going on in our goverment up here in Wisconsin. We can't help what they do.

One wonders what happens to the billions of money that went to Katrina victims if some of it found its way into the government caufers. I believe he is crooked and has done a terrible job of handling the situation.

There are no longer any vampires in New Orleans. it rather is a excursion and a waste of funds. those excursions got here out after the Anne Rice e book, "Interview with a Vampire." do no longer believe something you hear it rather is thoroughly bogus.

Although I like Ray Nagin, I'm forced to agree with you. The rest of the state is far too racist and narrow-minded for him to win a statewide election.
