I have to draw a transect of the topography along this line, and I need to know some of the major (or biggest at least) towns or villages along the Tropic of Capricorn.
Also what are the points of interest along it, like rivers, lakes, Uluru, mountain ranges, deserts etc.

Get yourself an atlas or an on-line map service and do it yourself. The tropic is 23.5 degrees South Laditude, which, if I remember, passes through Australia for starters.
