no big deal, but it has to make isner feel good about the match since he's done something that a lot of seasoned players has not done

For the parts that I caught, I think that Isner's serve helped him a lot in winning that set. I'm not sure about his potential since this is the first time for me to see a tennis grand slam and the first time for me to see Isner play and Young play.

It was awesome that Isner could win a set off of Federer in his first Grand Slam. =D

I watched a set and a half of that match before I had to leave for the afternoon and that first set was a very exciting set. I got very excited when Isner took that set off of Federer. I saw him play about 2 weeks ago at one of the other stops leading up to the U.S. Open and also in the highlights of the NCAA Men's Tennis tournament for this year and was very impressed with his game.

Isner is always going to be a chance to win a set if his serve is firing, regardless of who he is playing. Invariably he will hold his serve if serving well, and so at the very least should make the set go to a tie break. Isner's problem is he lacks the all round game to break his opponents serve and so at best he can hope to reach a tie break and continue to serve well.

You can see by the number of tie breaks he has already played in his very short career that at this stage he lacks the all round game to put hus opponents service game under pressure.

Considering that Federer has won a Grand Slam, without losing a set, it was a nice feat for him.

Absolutely insignificant.

7-6 is nothing. If he managed to break Federer, that would be something else.
