How do i turn a fraction into a number. I need to solve this equation but im stuck?

In one day, a store sold 8/5 as many DVDS as CDS. The Total number of DVDS and CDS sold that day was 273. How many DVDS were sold.

Here goes my equation, Is it right?

x+8/5x=273

Im having a hard time turning 8/5 into a whole number how do do this?

i think the rest of the equation goes like this:
then, divide the 273 by 1.6, and you'll get the number of how many CD's were sold. the number of CD's should be represented by X. then, plug X back into the equation you wrote down, and if the answer equals 273, you have the correct answer!

13/5 x = 273
Since 273 = 21*13 (sneaky how they got 273, isn't it?), x= 105 and the number of DVDs is 168.
