I was standing in front of the TV. listening to them talk about what had happened (he hadn't died yet or they didn't get the news because when I first heard it, he had been shot but was still alive.) They kept panning the crowd where he had just given his speech--who didn't know he'd been shot--and then focused on Rosie Grier standing there, weeping. I remember I wept for both Rosie and Robert.

I was 10 years old and I remember a lot of crying going on.
And at 6years old, I remember the news flash interrupting the cartoons to give the news of President JFK.

June 6, 1968 I was 18 and attending a birthday party for my mother....I actually was preparing for it most of that day....someone came in who had her car radio on (yes cars had radios back then but NOT stereo)....and told us he had been shot.... VERY FEW people had color tv's back then and they were BIG console machines so all we had were little transistor radios to listen to the news...until we all went home and watched the news reports with Walter Cronkite!!!

Sorry I couldn't tell you. I remember vividly when the President got shot, I was a freshman in college and I came back from classes and everyone was abuzzing about it at the dorm. Terrible, both!
