You can also use any rod with the right diameter.
Fix the start of the wire to the rod or hold them together and start wrapping around it.

Some use an old hand drill, fixed in a clamp on the table, fix the rod and the end of the wire in the drill together and use one hand to spin the drill the other to hold and guide the wire.

There is a product that I use to do spirals and coils. It is called the Coiling Gizmo. You can probably find it in Fire Mountain web site. The price should be around $10.00.

Have you tried wrapping the wire around a piece of metal tube or plastic pipe that is the diameter of your project? We made something similar in shop class (long time ago,ha-ha!!) and the teacher made the loops out of wire wrapped around a piece of tubing. you will need to find something the size you are looking for. Good luck!!

I have used bolts or threaded rods to coil wire. Just wrap the wire into the threads and then pull on the ends to get the spacing you need.
