How would you feel if this happens?

This is a question mainly for Westrn Europeans and Americans.

How would you feel if you were to find out someone has mocked or insulted your parents? How would you feel if an unjustified rumour is spreading in your neighbourhood or your place of work that your mother is a s*lut or a hooker?

How would you feel if an unjustified story were to appear in the newspapers or the television that accuse your father of being a child molester?

How do you feel? Will you feel incenced? Will you feel awful? Or do you feel "you may not like it but it is perfectly alright. It is a free world?" Will you feel you are able to take it or accept it?

I wouldn't accept it at all. I would do what I could legally to rectify the situation.
