I have a toshiba satellite T2130CS. I there any way to put window XP on it or ME? It has no cd rom drive just a floppy and no usb port. I there way to add a usb port so i can add an external cd drive? I just can't affor a new laptop so i am trying to update this one.

I answered your other question, but I'll try this one as well:

1. I couldn't find your computer on the Toshiba website, but it is a fair bet that your computer does not meet the hardware requirements for XP, or even ME.

2. There are devices that plug into your card slot that can add USB functionality. I've never seen one, and it is unlikely that they are still manufactured. You could look on eBay, though.

3. Then, we come to the big problem: Windows 95 (which I think you said was what was on your laptop originally) has very poor support for USB devices. So you would have to track down drivers for both the card and the drive, which may be difficult or even impossible if it is a recent drive.

4. A better option. if available to you, is to connect an external drive through the parallel port (printer port). These devices were probably more common around the era of your laptop, but would be hard to find now. And I don't know if your laptop would be able to boot from them. If not, you would have to make a boot disk that can access the external CD-ROM drive.
