Called the 800 #, they're closed. Tried to set up a service call on their website, the earliest they can come out is Sept 11! I just bought this frig brand new after Katrina! Making no noise at all, nothings running. Any ideas?

As a quick check, run a heavy-duty extension cord from a known good outlet and plug the fridge in. If the fridges wont turn on, then you know for sure it’s the fridge. Below are things I know to check for or what could be wrong, hope it helps.

COMPRESSOR=Compressor could be damaged and wont run (natch)

DEFROST TIMER (FROST FREE MODELS)=If this timer is damaged the compressor is being told to shut down.

FOR LOW VOLTAGE CONDITIONS = Low voltage conditions can be caused by small extension cords or improper power cable size.

POWER AT WALL SOCKET=Circuit breaker tripped, power cable to outlet damaged or disconnected to outlet.

POWER CORD TO REFRIGERATOR=Cord is damaged.

CONTINUNITY OF THERMOSTAT=No power to thermostat, compressor wont turn on.

POWER TO COMPRESSOR=Damaged power source to compressor.

CONTINUNITY OF RELAY & COMPRESSOR PROTECTOR (mount to compressor)=Check compressor for a reset button that has tripped.

Check the fuse; check to be sure it is plugged in.
Check to be sure no one turned the inside dial to off.
Meanwhile keep the door closed as much as possible to keep things cold.
Remember other things in the kitchen may be working but if your frig is on a different fuse it could have blown.

There may be nothing that you can do! It could possibly be the generator. If it has one. Is there any liquid on the floor? I had one for 2 weeks, there was liquid draining out the bottom. It stopped working also! I'm sorry that you are going threw this one a holiday weekend! Good Luck!

if the light comes on when you open the door the power is on to it, if not try another outlet, the plug it,s self could be bad, , determine that the power is on first,
second reset the temp knob, turn it all the way to off, then back to # 5, if theres nothing wrong with the fridge then it should start,
