Goldfish used to be treated like royalty in china hundreds of years ago, however, that role belongs to the koi now. Like betta bowls, goldfish bowls are not proper habitats as there are often no room for a filter nor heater. If you can keep the water room temperature and change the water every day, then the fish can survive, but without a filter the waste buildup will be so great that even a week will turn the water into a toxic home for the fish. The best option is to get a 1.5g tank kit that comes with a filter and sometimes a small heater to start out with but a ten gallon is best. Petco is having a dollar per gallon sale so you can grab a 20 gallons for 20 bucks and might end up spending less than on a small kit.

They can survive, but not for long. A goldfish needs an absolute minimum of 10 gallons (15 for Comets). As it grows, it needs at least 20+ gallons to live happily. They can grow to over a foot long and produce massive amounts of ammonia, so it is essential to have a filter. An oxygen pump isn't necessary, but it would be good to have one. An oxygen pump, or air pump, can be connected to an airstone to provide more oxygen to your water. If you plan on getting one, I'd suggest to get a 20 gallon goldfish starter kit. It's usually around $50 at a Petco, but you might be able to find it cheaper somewhere else. Cycle your tank; a good website can be found here: http://www.firsttankguide.net/cycle.php
After that, bring your new goldfish home and float them in the water for 15 minutes. Then add some of your tank water and wait for 5 minutes. Then you can let him swim out into the tank on his own. Hope this helps!

Its best to start a goldfish in a 10 gallon aquarium and upgrade your tank as your goldfish grows. If you put it in a small bowl, it will stunt its growth and it won't live as long as it could. Plus goldfish are very messy so you'll need a good filter and if you have a power filter, it will provide your tank with extra oxygen. Its also good to have a heater and hood with light and you'll be set.

Yes, they can survive. However, there's a high chance that diseases will follow.
oh and keep in mind that the common goldfish can grow up to 1-2 feet! The reason that this is bad is because when goldfishes live in small spaces, their organs will continue to grow, but their body won't! that's like trying to squeeze a grapefruit into a water bottle.

No, goldfish can not survive in a fish bowl without oxygen. They need an aquarium with plenty of filtration, as they are
very messy fish. If you want a fish for a bowl, may I suggest you get a betta.

No they won't survive in a bowl very long at all. The goldfish bowl is a total myth and very cruel to the fish. They suffer in their own waste until they die. Horrible.

maybe for a few days or so or maybe a few weeks with every day waterchanges, but on longterm NO
The minimum requirement for a goldfish is a 10 gallon tank with filter, and even that one they will outgrow
The smaller the habitat of a goldfish, the less it's going to have a long life
you will actually stunt the growth of the goldfish and it will die a cruel deatch, because the organs dont' stop to grow inside of the fish, and will eventually sufficate the fish

not even for a betta it's a proper home
