This is tough, but I'd say it's "Lolita" by Vladimir Nabokov even though I'm not finished reading it yet. Lol

other than her Ellen schriber is also an amazing author and her 4 books are good reads:

My current two favorites are Jeffrey Euganides' "Middlesex" and John Irving's "Son of the Circus." Probably the only two novels I've read in the last six months that have really blown me away.
