Mediation before bed time, relaxing or soothing sounds CD, chamomile tea at bed time. Perhaps you don't need much more than 5 hours of sleep at this time, teach yourself to get up and out of bed when you wake up, and don't do anything in your bedroom except sleep. That is how you condition yourself to know that bed = sleep, and to sleep at the right time, no naps during the day.

I've had a sleeping disorder for over 10 yrs. now. Same thing, I fall to sleep easily and then wake up a few hours later and can't go to sleep again. I have tried lots of different medications but nothing works long term. I have had some success with ear plugs. Do try to rid yourself of anything that may be waking you, noise, pets, being too hot or whatever it may be. Good luck to you, I hope you find what works.

The body gets in a routine , it must have something to do with the gravitational pull ,eather solar or looner, but each day the pull is what drives you,, what I'm saying is get 8 hours of sleep , go to bed at a time that alows you 30 minuets to get to sleep then in 8 hours you are to get up ,, if you're awake in five stay in bed for the next 3 , just lay there the stiller the better , in time your body will correct itself , but if you get out of bed after 5,,,,, every day in 5 you will be awakened . ,,, also there is a possability that a racoon is out ratteling a trashcan every day at the crack of dawn.. just lay there your body will remember ,, and ofcourse if it is a racoon it will change it's habbits if it finds nothing for just over 60 days

Dont listen to all the seeing-your-doctor-pherapy guff that will either take lots of your valuable time or cost lots of money or both. Split your sleep into two stages. 1st stage when you get home from work/college or whatever and the second when you feel tired enough to go back to sleep. Between the first and second stage dont do anything to active that will get your heart rate up.

firstly make sure bed is comfey, bedroom not to hot?cold apparently 61 degrees is desired temperature. No T.V in your bedroom, no reading in bed also. Have nice long soak in bath if possible and do not wait to go to bed until very tired this will just make you overtired. listen to gentle music and learn to relax your body and m,ind with meditation. hope this helps.

realistically speak to your doctor about this, there is plenty of help at hand that can help sleep disorders.my doctor prescribed me with a tablet that is used to treat depression and anxiety,it relaxes me and helps me sleep called cipralex.I used to sleep around about 3 to four hours a night before taking them.........on the funny side you could just sit on the edge of the bed.....I'm sure you will soon drop off lol ...

Would you consider doing psycho-analysis, just in case it's something deep-rooted?

My parents never encouraged us to go to bed at the right time when we were little and I have had the same problem and found therapy very helpful.

usually doing some exercises before going to sleep, will help you sleep through the night.
