Think Larry Craig and Mark Foley regarding gay sex. Think President Bush's willingness to send soldiers to do a job he was unwilling to do. Think of high and mighty Newt Gingrich and his scandals. Offering Clinton's White House escapades will not suffice; Republicans claim moral purity, Democrats don't.

Hypocrisy is most pronounced in people who claim moral superiority and believe in moral absolutes. Their unreasonably high ideals don't allow them to have human desires or weaknesses (at least in public), so you get ridiculous circuses like with Ted Haggard and the rest.

Greetings! I think you hit the hammer on the head. No one can hold the lofty family values that the Republican Party espouses. Eventually, it all comes crashing down. The Democrats know this so they don't use this card.

I really don't care about who sleeps with whom, as long as it is consentual. I really don't give a hoot if a senator or congressman (or even President) is on the list at a Brothel.

What Does get my anger boiling are people who run around, bashing others for their transgressions, then use their high and mighty attitude for them to rise to a high political-religious plateau, only to find them doing the EXACT same thing.

Newt Gingrich, Mark Foley, Larry Craig, the lead spokesman and major evangelist in Colorado who led the fight for straight marriage, then get caught in a male Prostitute's log....the list goes on.

If the Republican Party doesn't give up the family values and schuck the fundamentalist faction, they will find themselves like the Whigs. The twenty-first century will not allow that kind of hypocrisy to continue.

Take care.

Think to someone asking asking a question(really a statment with a questionmark at the end) and then giving vague and totally unrelated examples to defend his statement/question. Think to....no one group claiming moral purity.....Republicans NOR Democrats.....morals are an individualistic trait.....not a group trait........Think to a teacher named Grant....teaching your children.

Only the GOP placed rules upon itself following the 1994 elections that required ; if a member came under investigation while in a leadership position the member in question would have to step down. NOW, those on the other side of the aisle with their far share of dirty sheets and skeletons do not have such self defeating rules placed upon themselves. Therefore, the GOP removes their members once they are subject to inquiry and the left does not. What Democrat was caught by the FBI with thousands of dollars in his freezer in his home? What did Nancy P. do with him? He was placed into a leadership position......hmmmm

Be fair, now. Craig didn't last a week after the story broke, and it was all the GOP's doing. Democrats just sat back and watched on this one.

What rankles me is that lying, hypocritical twit David Vitter still sitting in the Senate. Why is he safe from his own party's scorn? Is it because Louisiana has a Democratic governor to appoint his replacement? Or because he wasn't accused of any homosexual behavior?

Studds gets a twenty-one gun salute for being 'alternate', yet when Foley and Craig were found to be in opposition of their party's morality, they were asked to resign.

What hypocrisy?

It goes on with both sides. Barney Frank and his roomie running a gay house of prostitution, Feinstein funneling billions of dollars in Government contracts to her husbands companies. Kennedy at Chappaquiddick. I just read a story where D.C. Police treat members of Congress much differently than they deserve. As a 30 year veteran of law enforcement it makes me sick.

It seems that the GOP werent tolerating Craigs behavior at all. Why the stupid question?

Oh, I forgot, you just have to take a shot for your party, however ignorant it may be.

Liberals invented hypocrisy. Case in point being the fact that Hillary and other prominant LibDems took contribution money from a felon on the run.
The Lib biased mainstream media has been working hard to shift the focus from that ethical (which said Libs said they never do) faux pas to the non-crime of a Republican.
You people have fewer ethics than anyone else on this planet.

Hypocrisy is not assigned to one particular political group. I am sure many of us heard Bill Clinton proclaim that " I did not have sex with that woman Monica Lewinsky."

At the rate of the Republicans resigning, the GOP has to forgive and defend or their leadership would disintegrate. As a liberal, I can find no reason to tolerate the hypocrites.
