I had seen an ad in a newspaper for a kennel attendant and called the lady to apply. She had me go and talk with her and fill out an application. Not knowing she was running a puppy mill I went and applied. She said she was a breeder of Collies and showed me threw her home/kennel. I was so appalled by what I saw. She had cage after cage of collies, every where you looked. She had cages stacked on top of cages, all with dogs inside of them. She had over 50 dogs in all and used her garage as the kennel. She pointed out to me that she had interbred her dogs and made them breed as much and as frequently as possible. The mess of this place, the stench of it and the site of these dogs being bred in such poor conditions made me sick to my stomach. I was so upset bye the time I left that I didn't even want the job. Luckily, for me, she called me back the next day and said I was "over qualified" for the job and that she chose someone else for the position. That was fine by me as I knew the minute I left her house that I didn't want it.

I worked at a humane society after that for 5 years and saw so many deformed puppies in those 5 years it was incredible. And they were all puppy mill pups.

I would have never went for that job if I knew she was running a puppy mill and if I knew what I would see.

I hope this helps answer your question.

That they make a lot of money on genetically screwed up pups. The pups are whelped in horrible, dirty conditions. Many get AKC papers even though they should not because of inbreeding. When bitches can no longer produce they go the way of dogs used in illegal dog fights, that don't win.

Puppy Mills is Haley Mills's little sister .She was raised under un-speakable conditions with little or no nourishing food and sold for big $$$$$$ to a family who didn't know it !!!! With all the silly legislation thats being passed you'd think that one would be passed BANNING those type of operations !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that they often times produce unhealthy and unhappy dogs, and I think that's probably the most important thing...
