You have a potential problem with rust unless you uncover it and open it up on a warm winter day. You also have a chance that mice will build a nest inside it.
Keeping it with its gas tank outside is safer than bring the tank inside.

We leave our gas bb'que outside on the porch without any thing covering it. We live in Canada & the grill gets wind, sun, cold & some snow. Needless to say last year we had to buy a new gas grill__more for parts then the weather. The outside of the old grill was a little rusted & rough looking. It's probably best if you cover the grill.

I've left my gas grill outside for many years. I've also wasted money on buying those plastice covers. As I said wasted money. They tend to freeze and crack.
If possible find an exterior wall that blocks the wind and snow to help protect the grill. Then when spring comes around, do some routine maintance, such as checking the interior for major rust, and every few years give it a good de-greasing and a new paint job. That's kept my cheap gas grill working for over 7 years.

Yes you can leave it out but make sure the valve on the tank is turned fully off. Be sure to check all the fittings for leaks in the spring when you awaken the grill from it's winter hibernation. Turn on the gas and use a diluted dish soap liquid solution on the fittings and look for bubbles which will indicate a leak. If there is a leak carefully tighten the fitting and retest until there are no bubbles. If there is a stubborn leak then you will have to replace the line.

We leave our gas grill outside all the time; It is on a covered porch, (more like a carport) but is not heated. In three years we have had no problem with either rust or mice

My brother has left his stainless steel gas grill range outside UNCOVERED for the last 4 winters and has had NO problem. He's in the Sierra Nevada foothills, so gets rain and snow.
