Did you have friends that used you for a scapegoat when they got in trouble with their parents?? Or use you to cover for them without letting you know that they were going to??

Yup a friend named Paul in high school knew that his parents liked me-and I was a goodie goodie back then-he called me to say that his mom and dad wanted to ask me if he had been hanging out with me the day before so he wouldn't get in trouble for where he'd actually been.
I told the truth and he got in trouble and I felt like a big jerk. I've thought about that more than once and wondered what difference it would have made if I had lied for him.
Doing the right thing ultimately is the better choice-but it hurts sometimes.

I was ALWAYS the scapegoat...Im 34 and I still have people who use me as the scapegoat..

oh yes !!
i hate this !
actually this make me angry !
cuz i always think to myself do they think that i am stupid .Imagine some of them never even call me but when they get into trouble i become their best friend !!!
but i make it better by saying "sorry i cannot do that 4 u "or"i don' have time cuz right now i'm going for shopping" or sth like this !
they must know that i'm not their robot !
