I have a Dell Dimension desktop running Windows XP Pro. My a drive is no longer working, I have a usb drive and I would like to have it be my new A drive. Is this possible? If so how?

Thanks

hexnumber's answer is on the right track here I think. However the A and B drive are not showing up in the manage screen. Any thoughts?

Yes it's possible and easy.

1) Right click the "my computer" icon
2) left click "manage"
3) within computer management, on the left hand side click on "disk management"
4) right click the drive you want to change the letter for and left click "Change drive letter and paths"
5) in the following window, click "change"
6) change the drive to the desired letter

That's it!
You might not be able to change the C: drive.

Good luck

Your operating system is on your C:/ drive. The A:/ drive used to be your 3.5in. floppy. If you're saying it doesn't boot up because you messed with something in the boot drive, you're out of luck. Sry.
