Use cold water, and only cold water. Turn your jeans inside out to prevent the darker side from being beaten to a pulp. You could use a dark-wash cleanser, but nobody I've talked to has said it makes a difference and it's more expensive anyway. Also, hang dry them rather than put them into the dryer.

Turn them inside out and wash them with cold water.
All my jeans are true religion and rock and republic...so i try to keep mine nice too...but if they get ruined or sumthin i just go buy more.
So if the color's fading away i'd just go buy a few more pairs already.

wash them in cold water, with a detergent made for dark clothes, inside out. Then hang dry them.

One of the major detergent companies, I think it's Cheer, actually has a detergent specifically made for dark colors -- that would be my choice to keep your dark jeans dark as long as possible. Just look for it in the detergent aisle of the supermarket -- it's just for dark fabrics!

my friends are horrifed that i throw my sevens, or true religion or whatever-other-overpriced jeans-i-have-that-i-bought-because-i-had-nothing-better-to-do-with-my-money, in the washer and dryer without a second thought...that's because they have theird dry-cleaned. so i guess you could do that too if you care that much.
