Is it just me or is it hard to find Pete Rock gems in the this decade as in the 90's, I mean the 90's you had the main ingredient, Mecca and the soul brother, all souled out, INI, Deda and this decade it seems like he only has the instrumentals and about 10 real songs that are undisputed bangers, I’ll always have respect for him for his gems in the 90’s and the few now but honestly has he lost his touch?

thats cuz in the 90's all the producers were competing with each other to make the best beats. Preemo, pete rock, diamon d, evil dee, and all the other s that sample were trying to outdo each other, so they put out only the best, but since commercialism started selling more and i dont know how it is the way it is now

I don't think he's lost his touch, but Pete Rock only does music with good artists. He has a couple of songs on the new Talib Cd. There are much less artists worthy of a Pete Rock track... so that is why I feel he isn't pumping out as much music. And sadly it is hard to find some of his gems in music stores these days, I had to buy them off the internet or iTunes, nothing locally. It's sad.

FIrst and formost,it has hard to find,i'm 15 and wanted to hear it,i have a list of hip hop classics to fulfill. I hit up the music store(3) at the mall, none of them had the classic pete rock. Even internet didn't,all i could find is They Reminisce Over You(T.R.O.Y.). Its all about hungryness, back then he was hungry for the game and the money, now he's paid, who doesn't know him? So like a lot of people he decided to chill. He has his touch, the right inspiration is all he needs. He has his touch, just decided to go in a whole different direction. Peep JAzzy Jeff's new album,The MAgnificent Returns.

He hasn't lost his touch but the music industry has changed so much from the nineties maybe hes just sitting back and waiting for all the BS to pass so he can shine again. Straighten it Out was my song and The Creater those were the days

How can you think that he lost his touch...he still produces...check out his myspace page...Just because he hasnt converted to the simplistic sounds of today...doesnt mean he lost his touch...I dont think so...His beats are still bangin its just that the genre is being flooded with trash.
