Members of Congress cannot be impeached as there is no mechanism to do so. Some states have a process of "recall" which requires a special election on whether to keep the individual or not. In the long run, only the ballot box removes a sitting member of Congress. Just for your information, on the average, only about 2 % of all members of Congress running for reelection to the same seat are defeated in any election.

No -- nor is impeachment necessary.
Each chamber of Congress can remove members from their own chamber without having to go for a formal impeachment. See Article I Section 5.
However, Congress will not vote to remove itself from power.

I'm sure Congress protected itself from such treachery. However, "we the people" have a Constitutional right - and obligation - to "keep and bear arms" in order to protect ourselves from an oppressive and tyrannical government. Maybe it's time we put down the remote, got up off the sofa, and started a second American Revolution. -RKO- 09/01/07

Nope, you need to have enough people to impeach vote them out, and they are not going to impeach themselves.

No, impeachment is for Presidents only and there is no evidence of criminal activity against all members of Congress.

Let's do it and see what happens. Maybe we'll even learn from the mistakes the idiots who replace them will make.
