1st one : A horror film I think from 80's. All I can remember is a woman (working as a nanny I guess ) and a strange tree connected to that woman ( in the final scene people killed the woman by destroying the tree and it bled a lot)
2nd one: There was a small girl who tried to contact her dead father by making strange things ,like painting herself exactly the same way as a tree or building a huge platform model from playing cards ( in the end her mother built the real size platform just to reach the girl and realized the girl didn't understand that her father was dead in the first place and thought he just fell from some place to moon ) Now by writing it like that movie just sounded too bizarre :)

The second movie is " House of Cards" w/ Kathleen Turner, Tommy Lee Jones... great show! T I think the first one IS "The Guardian"...from 1990.
