I went to use the lawn mower and it just died on me! At first it would start but only move an inch and died on me and now when I turn the ignition to on, it just sputter or click. Could it be the battery that's dead? Please help!

Now it won't start at all!! Sounds like a dead battery to me. Is it?

It does sound like the battery need recharging re- the clicking. But the engine dying and sputtering sounds like water in the gas, or a bad spark plug. Without more information it is hard to make a through diagnosis.

when you tried to start it the first time did it roll over slow or did it roll over like normal then start ? does the motor roll over by hand and freely? the battery could be at fault or the starter or even just a lose wire . As far as it starting it could have water it the gas ,bad spark plug

Sounds like a fuel prob to me...check the fuel bowl/filter make sure its gettin through

Yes u need a tune up and fresh gas. Old gas will make it pop and hard to start,

Hi, Spend a few dollars and get the machine serviced.This way you will not have to screw around trying to get it started.Good luck.

probably not battery, check gas and fuel filter and spark plug.
