Call animal control. I had the same thing happen to me. When he was approached, he took off on his three good legs. They'll know how to take care of the situation.
The deer that was in my backyard was around for at least a year after that (moved out of the area after that...)

I have the same answer as most. Animal control.
But if you live in a small town you may not have that service, I don't. I would try to reach a vet. There should be someone on call or try your fire dept.( they love doing this rescue stuff).Lastly I would call the police.
Please let me know what happened. I so love animals.
Even though I live in town there is a patch of woods nearby and around dusk I will see 5-12 deer cross the road. I've tried to get a picture but can't.
Good luck.

Call the regular number at your police station and talk to them they will give you a path to follow or come out and do it on their own. animal control will often not deal with a deer. Fish and Game will help if you have a number for them. How do I relate to this, we have all sorts of deer on the roads and in yards here in Idaho all the time, and bears and cougars, the fish and game and the police team to tranqualize and move them back to the woods or put down if the injury is severe.

Don't go near him, he may thrash about and hurt you, especially with those antlers. I would call animal control, but you may have a problem with that, being the weekend and a holiday and all. . You could call the police. If they have to they could put it out of it's misery. Or they may be able to give you further help as to who to call.

If you have an animal rescue center, please try that. Some will have a vet to assist the buck if he is hurt.
Good luck to you. Also if you live near a university or college, they sometimes have people who assist. Also see if you have Game and Wildlife Commission. They are the best.
Please do not call animal control. They usually put them down.

Contact your county extention office - they will know who with Wildlife/Fish/and Game in your area can come to this animal's aid.
If there is no county extention office in your area - call the police and fire NONemergency number and ask for a referal.
Do not attempt to approach the animal yourself - they are VERY powerful animals.
Peace.

Animal control should be able to shot him with a dart to put him to sleep, so that they can fix his leg. I miss seeing the deer. I could never shoot one, but do like venison. I just don't want to know my dinner meal that well:~)

See if there's a Division of Game and Wildlife in your area and speak to them. (I imagine with the holiday they might be out of the office but you can try.) If he's trying to hide, it sounds like he's reconciled to his hurt leg.
