Say you enter a maximum bid of $50, does eBay immediately bid your $50 or does it go up slowly. E.g. Say the bidding is currently at $30 then it bids $32 and slowly goes up until it gets to $50, is that what happens?

you go up to the highest bid by others then once someone bids higher you go up but when you hit 50 you no longer bid unless you enter a higher maximum bid thats the readers digest version

Your bid only incrreases when someone places a bid that's higher than the current one, but still below your maximum bid. Your bid then goes up to the next increment higher than the other person's bid, as long as that is still under your maximum bid.

Your bid is not revealed to others, you remain the high bidder until such time as somebody exceeds your bid. If someone bids, they are notified that there is a higher bid, he must either drop out or continue to bid until he exceeds your bid.

If you bid max. It will raise you bid by the minimum bid amount until your max bid is outbid my another. If you bid 19.99 max and the auction was at starting price of 9.99. It would bid 9.99 then as others bid the item up you bid will increase in min bid amount until you are the high bidder or you are outbid. Hope this helps!

It slowly goes up. If a bid goes in higher than your lowest , a dollar or so more of your money goes in but they get an instant message they they have been outbid.

yeah, it slowly bids up as needed until your maximum bid is reached.
