How should I dilute it to mop, and clean.

How do you clean with baking soda?

Sagnacious_ness, why use ammonia? I tried the vinegar on mirrors today, worked fine with a news paper. I'm tryin' to go au natural.

Baking soda doesn't cut through grease however.

Use just plain white vinegar, not the fruit stuff. Oh who measures......maybe a cup per gallon (or less)

I love baking soda as a gentle cleanser.........for example you can use it on glass top stoves, on casseroles that have some burned on stuff, on the bathroom sink, kitchen sink (I'll splash a bit of vinegar with the baking soda for the stainless steel sink......rinse well with baking soda, it leaves a film
otherwise. I clean out my refrigerator with baking soda on a sponge...rinse well again.

Yes, the plain distilled white vinegar is the best. You already got the answers for mopping, so here's a solution I like for cleaning windows (mix in a gallon jug):
-- 1/2 cup sudsy ammonia
-- 1 pint rubbing alcohol
-- 1 tsp dish-washing liquid
-- 4 tbsp lemon juice
fill with enough water to make a gallon. Newspaper works best for windows, especially, outdoors side, but wear rubber gloves so you don't get the ink on your hands.

Personal experience with this one :-) If you have a dog that meets the business end of a skunk...
-- 16 oz bottle of peroxide
-- 1 tbsp dish-washing liquid
-- enough baking soda to make a paste (2 cups I think)
wet the dog first, massage mixture into the coat, avoiding the face. Wait about 20 minutes then rinse, repeat if necessary. Tomatoe juice is not practical and a messy myth, this really works.

Vinegar & baking soda, or peroxide and baking soda if you test for color safety first, is good for puppy accidents during housebreaking.

Vinegar is non-toxic, and the smell does dissipate quicker than you might expect. Bleach/water dilution is an excellent disinfectant, 1 cup bleach to 1 gal. water. When it evaporates, it does not leave a toxic residue. Another favorite of mine is Murphy's Oil Soap for floors and wood work. It's so mild that I have used it as a shampoo for my cat. Another one is Simple Green - mind you those spray bottles have concentrate in them, and you have to follow the directions for diluting it, and not everyone likes the smell (I do). Be aware that many products that are natural, plant-based, especially those with essential oils, can still be toxic to cats.

I mop with about a cup of white vinegar per gallon of water. We use this for tile, and hardwood floors.... recommended by flooring expert.

water & vinegar good for cleaninig glass, removing bad odors, and neutralizing puppy pee pee.

I recommend a cleaner called Kids 'n Pets...it's enzymatic so it completely elimanates the smell of the urine, and it's very safe to use around your pet. It's available at Target for about $7. Good luck!
