The length of the side of a square is the length of the diagonal divided by the square root of 2.

let x = length of side.

100 = x^2 + x^2 = 2x^2
x^2 = 50
x = sqrt(50) = sqrt(25) x sqrt(2) = 5 sqrt(2)
