Well as of today there sure have been. I realize you posted this question about a week ago. Today the Portugal police are again questioning the mother after 11 hours of questioning yesterday. The blood found in their rental car was analyzed and found to belong to Maddie. The father is going to be questioned as well and both the parents have now been named as "suspects" although under Portuguese law this does not mean an arrest is imminent. According to their law, the police have to tell them the nature of the evidence found which makes them suspects, so maybe they will crack under the presssure of the questioning.

I think "Sunshine" has answer this question. I do not believe these parents had anything to do with this missing child.
When the police are so incompetent, just like in the Jon Benet Ramsey case, nor were those parents guilty.
The police wants to blame someone, so the parents are now suspects. They need to do their job, however I don't believe they are smart enough..
