Hello, I have a window in my room which is a standard single-hung window that slides up to open. The problem is that the window is set in a corner of my room and is about waist level high. I have my chest of drawers in front of the window and that is the only window in my room so it gets horribly stuffy and hot, almost like a sauna, even during the winter! If I could flip the window upside-down so it slid open from Top to Bottom then the opening would be above my chest of drawers. Can a person install a winow upside-down? Or do they sell windows that slide open downwards? Thank you.

I agree with dee. (I always wanted to say that!) You can't turn the window up side down because then the rain will come inside. It is more logical to have a double hung vinyl replacement window installed. A double hung means both the top and the bottom go up and down.

Saw the chest of drawers in half even with the bottom of the window sill. Set the pieces side by side and lay a piece of plywood on top. You then have a new dresser, Lots of fresh cool airy breezes coming in your window with that great view you've been missing, and you saved your self about $750.00 to boot.

I agree with Dee and William get a double hung window. All windows have weep holes in them to allow water to drain if you install one upside down water will collect in the frame and mold will grow in it.

My first thought is it would screw up the weights in the window. Removing and reinstalling a window is not an easy project for someone who's never done it before. It's not as straight forward as you'd like it to be. Obvious answer is to rearrange the furniture........tho I realize that may not always work either.
