I'm compiling a list of political scandals that have taken place in the last 15 or 20 years or so. For the Dem's, there is the Bill Clinton fiasco & the William Jefferson bribe scandal. On the Republican side there is the Larry Craig debacle, Vitter's name on the DC prostitute's list, Gonzales' perjury (or alzheimer's), the politicization of the Justice Department, preferential no-bid contracts to Dick Cheney's "former" employer, Tom DeLay's money laundering, and the list goes on... (remember Nixon & Agnew?)
I know I mentioned more Republican scandals than Democratic scandals. There may be many more involving Dem's than Republicans, I don't know, but that's just what I could think of right now.
Please submit any scandals you can think of, on both sides. Please name names and give approx. dates & SOURCES (it's just too easy, innocently or otherwise, to repeat unsubstantiated rumors & politically motivated lies).
THANKS!

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, although I tried to make the question fair and asked for objective facts, that most answers are so biased and one-sided (on either side).
Or that some spout old, unsubstantiated political lies. Chainsaw, I appreciate you indicting both sides, but "Democrat Congressman Barney Frank allowing a male prostitution ring out of his apartment?" That's just ignorant political babble, like "Dennis Hastert is working for the communists..." Rubbish...
That's exactly why I asked for sources, esp. for questionable or doubtful claims. Too often you find that the "source" is a politically biased website or other political organization (like, "The Heritage Foundation" which has nothing to do with our American heritage, but is really a Republican think-tank).

"Right is Right"... Wow, you sure are! I'd say thanks for answering the question, but that's not what you did. You only expounded a very biased and somewhat trashy assault on the Clintons. Hmm... I wonder, are you a Republican by any chance? :)

The time period you specify includes The Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Clinton and the current Bush.
by far, the greatest actual indictments, and convictions were during the Reagan era. Over 200 individuals were either indicted, or lost their jobs due to findings of unethical behavior. The list is too long to detail, but what I remember most was that even before taking office, the Reagan people conspired to keep hostages in Iran so that Reagan could get credit for their release. The sex scandals of Clinton, the illegal Nanny of Zoe Baird, David Watkins using the presidential helicopter for golf trips, The White Water thing ( never proven) . Bush #2, Prior knowledge of 9/11?, Haliburton, (Billing for service not given, bad equipment for our soldiers, etc.) The firing of Judges, Mark Foley trying to have sex with under aged boys, Shooting folk in the face and covering it up, ( Seems to me that all this stuff about 'Family Values" is just a front. But, maybe we are supposed to do as they say and not as the do? As Sonny Bono said, 'The beat goes on'
By the way, I think Right is right is a bit cracked if he/she believes all that crap.

Dems
Congressman Gerry Studds sodomizing an underage male page.
Congressman Barney Frank's boyfriend (aka Hot Bottom) running a male prostitution ring out of Frank's Georgetown apartment.
Wilbur Mills' intoxicated incidents with the Argentine Firecracker stripper Fanne Foxe. First the tidal basin incident, then the Scollay Square incident (a hammered Mills took a header off the stage while trying to get to Foxe).
Ted Kennedy becoming the most infamous drunken driver in the US, drowning an innocent girl in the process.

How about Sandy Berger stealing document from our national archives library that made up a large portion of the national security report card for Bill Clintons Presidential term and destroying them. or the 1989 sex scandal of Barney Frank who's male prostitute lover ran a male prostitution ring out of Franks apartment.

Although Ted M's list was quite comprehensive, he missed 3 Illinois Governors: William G. Stratton, Republican, I believe was involved in graft connected to highway building; Dan Walker, Democrat (Savings & Loan improprieties after he left office)';and now George Ryan, Republican for overseeing the sale of drivers licenses to illegal aliens (he was obviously ahead of his time). You see, Illinois is an Equal Opportunity Corruption State.
We have the 5th largest illegal immigrant population in the U.S., and the framework already in place for massive vote fraud, so even more of our illustrious public servants will be on the list.

Watergate with Nixon
Iran Contra Reagan
Democrat Congressman Gerry Studds and his page affair
Democrat Congressman William Jefferson with $90K in his fridge and using the National Guard to get it.
Democrat Congressman Barney Frank allowing a male prostitution ring out of his apartment
Delay does not count because he was indicted and most of them were thrown out.

The media talks about Senator Craig but won't touch Halliburton child sex slave human trafficking scandal. This question should help you out:

Also here's another list of some. I think it's mostly Republican though but it will definitely help you out.

No list of political scandals would be complete without "Teapot Dome."
Look it up yourself. My point is that they've been doing this crap for years, why anyone ever gets re-elected is a mystery to me.
