we have all seen Doors (the movie) and to a certain extent its pretty accurate in showing the excess path that Morrison was on, however it doesnt get very deep into his sensitive side, and just rest of his life in general. I think they could have done a better job than that.

It's Hollywood, they just wanted to show the entertaining side of Jim Morrison. To show him being normal or living like a regular person would have tarnished the icon Hollywood wanted to portray. They forget that some of us find the "other" stuff that isn't spotlighted in tabloids more interesting, that a fuller, deeper portrayal of a person's good things, bad things, sad things, lost and unsure sides, is more fascinating than just the thrillseeker who drank and drugged himself to death. Read a good bio on Jim; read what others remember about him. He sounds like he was a nice fun guy who got carried away by fame, drugs, drink and lost sadly himself.

I feel you may be right. I was a big fan of his music, and did not know he was so heavy into drugs until I saw the movie. I still like his music, but just wish someone could have helped him. I also wish they would have shown his sensitive side.

I think the movie was meant to just show the bad part of his life, like a path to self destruction. Val Kilmer was awesome in that role.

I thought it focused too much on his drug use and his arrogance. However, it didn't show that he could be very funny and was highly intelligent. While I liked the look of the movie and Val Kilmer's performance, it showed Jim too much as a two-dimensional character.

I think they did a fine job. You try and make a movie. Maybe you could do a better job if you think it wasn't done right.
