He should have given you more information then that and I believe he told you "purine foods" not pureed =).

You need to drink a lot of water for sure and limit or stop your alcohol use.

Foods high in Uric acid(purine foods)

Shellfish~ Lobster, crayfish, prawns, mussels, oysters, crabs, scallops.
Organ meats~ Liver, kidney, brains, sweetbreads
Red meat~Any red meat. Especially game.
Vegetables~ Peas, Mushrooms, spinach, asparagus, cauliflower.
Fish ~Anchovies, mackerel, sardines, herring.

Foods which may be beneficial...

Dark berries may contain chemicals that lower uric acid and reduce inflammation.
Tofu which is made from soybeans may be a better choice than meats.
Certain fatty acids found in certain fish such as salmon, flax or olive oil, or nuts may possess some anti-inflammatory benefits.

Here are two links that will give you more info, best of luck to you =)

I think you may have misunderstood what he said, because pureed foods are baby foods, all wized up in a blender. I have uric acid kidney stones and my specialist told me nothing would stop the production of them I was taking some white pills 4x a day until my stomach just said not 1 more or you'll vomit. I did have some stones taken out, but I probably will just keep producing them. Call MD and ask him/her to spell what that word was. He may have said purine. Better you should know than worry or do the wrong thing.

The foods to eat that will help lower uric acid are
fresh fruits (bananas, apples, oranges, and other fruits),
and plenty of pure water (8 to 12 cups of water per day).

Here is a link to information about low-purine diet

and a link to a low-purine diet which will help control uric acid. (from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center):

http://patienteducation.upmc.com/Pdf/LowPurineDiet.PDF

It says you can eat breads, cereals, rice, and pasta - (6 to 11 servings per day --- plain
except for whole-grain breads and cereals,
wheat germ, bran, and oatmeal - (no more than 2 servings per week of these).

Fruit -(4 servings per day), vegetables -(3 servings per day), milk or yogurt -(2 servings per day).

Reduce the amount of meat, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and cheese to no more than a total of 6 ounces daily.

Reduce the amounts of fat in your diet to no more than 3 teaspoons daily of butter, oils, margarine, or mayonnaise.

The ingestion of foods high in purines can raise uric acid levels in the blood. Uric acid levels can become elevated by eating a lot of purine-rich foods such as meats, by the overproduction of uric acid by the body, or if the kidneys do not eliminate excess uric acid.
