I've said it before and I'll say it again; when a parent corrects a small child, or a teacher corrects a student, it's okay. Otherwise I don't care for that type of thing. Especially not here. And if someone does it to me, they better watch out. Sooner or later they'll make a mistake and everyone will land on them, too.

To correct spelling and grammar (insultingly or not) is a "free" way of gaining two points. I can understand wanting to proofread posts (my God, some of them are little more than gibberish!) but if you're not even attempting to answer the question just move on to another. Frequent misspellings, horrible grammar, and abbreviations (idk, c u, etc.) are irritating. As I stated, some posts are almost unintelligible; there's no excuse for that. There is a spell checker on the same page BEFORE you click "submit". As for grammar, do these people TALK in that manner? You don't have to write as if you're submitting a paper to a college professor, but at least make sense! Some abbreviations are okay but a seemingly random series of letters and numbers, with random capitalizations, followed (or not) by a question mark is not okay. If I have to try to decipher this mess, I'm not even going to try to give an intelligent answer; I'll just dismiss it as the ramblings of an undereducated mind and just move on. If that makes me seem arrogant and condescending, so be it. I'm not "holier than thou"; I just want everybody to be courteous enough to write well enough so that their postings are easily understandable.

well i do answer them if i can understand them. The problem is that there is such an easy way to solve the problem, it's called Spell Checker and it's always right there. I use it all the time, if there is a word i'm not sure about.I have a hard time with others grammar too but when you can actually do something about the spelling, why not learn something as you are having fun.

They need to worry less about grammar, we all are not great at spelling etc, we aren"t rocket scientist, just people trying to help each other out. I would just like to add a word about spell checker, it gives three options for the correct spelling of a word , if a person cant spell the word properly in the first place then how are they suppose to chose the correct word they want to use from three possible similar s[pelled words.

If I can understand the question then I will respond with an answer, but I would never insult someone because of the way they worded their question. Besides, we are not getting graded on this damn thing, so they need to lighten up geesh

It's so annoying when they do that . They usually don't know the answer either...they just want the two points. It's only yahoo answers not Jeopardy!

It's condescending
and out of line. This is for use by a wide range of people, intellectual snobbery has no place here.

That is what I think as well..I mean it is rude to insult us on are grammer.. As long as you can make out what the person is meaning to say, why do it.. And if my mispellings annoys them, they can pass my question and go to another one..

It's very rude. Some people just like to be mean and hateful.
