The Mets activated Pedro Martinez today, and have scheduled him to start Monday 9/3 in Cincinnati. He's sitting on 2998 career strikeouts. Which Red becomes #3000? (And yes, I realize Adam Dunn is an obvious choice.) Guess the milestone whiff player, the inning, the out in that inning (first, second, third), and swinging or looking. Closest guess (ranking in the order of items listed) gets the 10 point bonanza.

I think it's great Pedro is back. Being a Red Sox fan, Pedro is THE MAN!

As for the answer, I'm going with the pitcher, Aaron Harang in the third inning. Pedro's not going to be blowing smoke by these guys (75 pitch count/no more than 35 per inning), so he might have 2 strikeouts during his entire outing.

Good luck Pedro! Maybe the Red Sox see you in the WS?

Not trying to sound like a tough guy, but about the only time I cry is due to death. I tend to become more pissed than upset over things. I guess I'm a very stereotypical male in that regard. Did Incubus of all people really just call someone else a sociopath and a psychopath?

I think it's going be the sixth batter he faces. Sorry, I don't know the names of Cincinnati's players, but I bet Dunn is #2999, and the sixth batter Pedro faces is #3000

Congrats ahead of time to Pedro

Picture perfect. Pedro will strike out Ken Griffey Jr. for the 3000th K. For number 3001 it will be Griffey again.

Its going to happen in the 3rd inning. With a runner on 1st. The batter is going to be Josh Hamilton, thats my opinion.

I think it'd be awesome if it was Griffey, but I'll go with Brandon Phillips or Dunn like you said.
