Well, he could have run out of toilet paper and was struck with a sudden attack of laryngitis.

Nahhhhh, he was looking for some action. In an airport bathroom. ewwwww.

I have. A lot. A lot more than I should have, actually. I'm sure it's more or less easy in different areas due to acceptability and everything, but it's certainly not impossible. The sucky part is figuring out who's gay, but if you're out and blunt about it that shouldn't be too difficult. Or there are more subtle ways if you're good at implying things with eye contact and things like that. But other than that, just be safe about it condom-wise and don't go off with anyone terrifyingly sketchy, like no one should, and you should be ok.

I think he was. But, I'm not sure that hand signals in the bathroom should ruin his career.

I'm not sure why people are so fascinated with putting people in awkward situations about their personal life.

How comfortable would anyone be with admitting everything about themselves. He grew up in a time when being homosexual was not accepted as it is today. Heck 20-30 years ago it wasn't all that acceptable.

I think if he had pleaded not guilty they would have had a hard time proving he did anything. And, I can see his discomfort with admitting this happened.

I wish as much effort was spent in the media on finding people that do really harmful things. Such as commit violent acts, etc.

This POS gives politicians an even worse name. Not only was he a staunchy anti-gay conservative Republican, but he tried to push his authority as a US Senator around by waving his business card. If shitheads like these are elected to National Office then maybe I have a chance to run, too.

I don't understand the original crime. Two consenting adults playing "footsie" with no money involved. Is the crime just the location? What is the law? I guess the crime is just the location where the "footsie" is taking place. What if it was just making a date and both people left the bathroom together? Is that illegal?

not for a second! i live in idaho and i think he is a person just like the rest of us so he was looking for it. i am slightly ashamed that he is a senator for the great state of idaho but it would not change the story if he was say from hawaii or wisconsin, he was looking for it. how else would he have known the 'signals' the cop reported?

I believe him. I do not know why no one else does.

If he was looking for gay sex in the men's room, he would have said that is what he was going to do, because Senator Craig is an honest, forthright, religious, family-values person! Plus he even SAID that he is not gay! That is good enough for me ......

I would honestly say that there is no honesty even in myself. I was told in college that there is no absolute truth, so I wonder why a question such as this is even asked...Oh, I know, the guy's Republican.

To th person who said, "It used to be innocent until proven guilty": he PLED guilty! He is guilty, and he said so himself! He had over a month between getting arrested and making the plea, so he had plenty of time to think about it and contact a lawyer, in spite of his excuses to the contrary.

Even the dumbest street thug knows you don't admit guilt to something you did not do. To plead guilty and pay the fine looks like an attempt to make this disappear. I do not believe him for one second.
