I know that the number being divided would have to be even and that it would also have to therefore end in a zero to fascillitate the five.

If such a number exists what is it called?
It would, virtually, be the complete opposite of a prime number.

There is a number that is divisible by any group of numbers. Even the numbers 1 through 8 duodecillion have a number that is divisible by all of them! The trick is to use multiplication. When you multiply 2 integers by each other, the product is always going to be a multiple of them. The same goes for 3 integers, 5 integers, a million integers, or even 8 duodecillion integers! n factorial is a good way to find such a number, for speed, but it's not always the LCM. Try knocking out numbers that are multiples of other numbers to get to the LCD. For instance, in your 1-9, you have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. 1 is a factor of all of them, so it's not needed. 2 will go into every factor of 8, 6, and 4, so you don't need it, either. 3 will go into each multiple of 9, so it's obsolete. 4 will do with 8, too. 6 is different; Because each of its prime factors, 2 and 3, are being accounted for in the numbers 8 and 9, any product of them will also be a product of 2 and 3, thus always making 6 an option. So, you're down to 5 times 7 times 8 times 9! That'd get you the LCM.

yes, lots of them. an obvious one is 9! = 1*2*3*4*5*6*7*8*9
the smallest (and every other is a multiple of it) is called the LCM (or least common multiple) of {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9} which is the product of the prime factors =5*7*8*9 = 2520

The least common multiple of the numbers 1 through 9 is 2520. Interestingly, the number just above it, 2521, is prime.

1 because it is an integer.
2 because 8 is divisible by 2
3 because 9 is divisible by 3
4 because 8 is divisible by 4.
5 because it is 9*8*7*5
6 because it is divisible by both 2 and 3
7 because it is 9*8*7*5
8 because it is 9*8*7*5
9 because it is 9*8*7*5
