What is your problem? Don't you know history? African- americans are really from africa, and then they came to america so they are african- americans. Whites know came from europe. and lived in america. So they just call them whites.

Probably because some white people have made being called black into a bad thing. If being called white sounded like a racially derogatory label white people would demand to be only called Caucasian. Who can blame them for wanting some control over how they are labled, they have not had a lot of control in the past.

some african-black american want to be called african american because they want people to know that their kind was from africa.
