Illegal immigration hurts the American worker by lowering the average wage and puts a strain on social and medical services according the Huddle Study.

So why would the AFL-CIO file a lawsuit to halt the action taken by the government that would help the American worker?
Also the ACLU has formed what they call the "Immigrants' Rights Project". Designed to fight any action taken by the government at enforcing the current Immigration laws, why?

"We'll continue to uphold the law," Keehner said late Friday. "We'll continue our enforcement efforts, and we'll continue to discourage employers who flagrantly disregard immigration laws. There are consequences for those actions."

*** That say it all for me!

I suggest you research the background of the ACLU. It was started by communist party members. It remains under the same mantra today.

One only has to research the cases the ACLU has taken on. NAMBLA/Mass. They defended NAMBLA members in a murder trial. Imagine that.

The AFL-CIO is another socialist, self serving group with it's own agenda. These scare tactics that socialists (libs) like to spread are utter nonsense.

If illegals are sent packing...as they should and NEED to be, then the union loses money. Memberships. They could less about the condition of the country as long as they remain as some sort of power player. Has absolutely nothing to do with companies closing down.

The left is always on a doomsday campaign. Ohhh, booo, we are going to lose more companies. Scare the hell out of citizens and then will sit down and be quiet as obedient, little children ought to. That is such BS.

There are over 400 American companies sitting across the border in Juarez, Mexico. There are another 1000 or so in China and India already. Yet, we are having one inferior product after another shipped back into this country because of outsourcing. Do you really think, the ones left are going to leave also? NOT!

Democrats are running so scared over the next presidential election, they will pander to ANYONE that will suck up their rubbish. Make that BS!

FYI: Illegals have no constitutional rights other than "humane treatment" during incarceration and deportation. Entering a country illegally is a criminal offense. Title 8 of USC defines the aiding and abetting of an illegal a FELONY.

Every company that has illegals in their employ are guilty of a felony. They all stand to suffer hefty fines and/or jail time. This is WHAT they are scared of. Oh, let's not forget the cash cows while hurting American TAXPAYERS.

Every taxpayer should rise up and pound the pacement against this colossal stupidity of an "Immigrant Rights Project". It is not to help the American CITIZEN TAXPAYERS. It is to HARM you.

Anything the ACLU does is against US citizens. Much like what Hitler or Stalin did. Read your history.

Read up on the ongoing mafia involvement in the AFL-CIO.

Do not think for 2 seconds either of these organizations are for the working class taxpayer. Do not think for 1 second they are pro-America.

You analysis of the legal situation is incorrect.

First, the judge in the case did not stop enforcement of govt laws -- the judge only delayed some notice and warning letters, as part of a due process requirement -- all the laws still remain in effect.

The news headline is misleading when it says the letters were halted. The judge only "granted a temporary restraining order" -- which means a slight delay (usually a few weeks) in sending out the letters. However, the delay means the companies are MORE likely to be punished in the long term than if the letters went out now.

Second, the AFL-CIO is basing their concern on the fact that this action will likely result in many companies declaring bankruptcy and going out of business -- and because they have members who work at these companies, they don't want to see that happen.

Whether the companies should go out of business for breaking the law is a different issue -- that's a subjective value decision you can make. But it's pretty easy to see why the AFL-CIO doesn't want to see these companies fold.

As far as the ACLU action -- immigrants have rights under the constitution. Even illegal immigrants have some rights, namely 4th, 5th and 6th Amendment protections which apply to everyone, regardless of citizenship. So, the ACLU is working -- as it always does -- to make sure the govt follows its own rules, and that the govt doesn't break any laws while going after people.

I believe the AFL-CIO is looking to have these immigrants revitalise the unions through memberships. The unions are run like businesses these days, instead of looking after the rights of workers they are more interested in collecting member dues. The ACLU has descended into being nothing more than a left wing radical cult that is more interested in defending the "Rights" of child molesters, murderers, enemy prisoners and other criminals including illegal immigrants.

So why is it that the Bush administration goes on all these "raids" yet the businesses that employ all of these illegals never get fined?

We all have to PROVE that we're citizens.

If the government finds out so easily that they're illegals, why is it so hard for these businesses?

Beyond that, if it was one or two, I'd buy off on it. There were over fifty at a couple of different meat packing plants.

That one judge is beyond wacky. There was no good legal reason to justify her actions.

She also is a Clinton appointee. Just like the ones that Supreme Court keep over-riding.

She is a Democrat. Democrats are against enforcing immigration laws because they are worried that they will lose future votes by deporting future democrats.

Democrats are doing everything possible trying to spend $2.5 trillion dollars by providing a special amnesty.

The suit says the new rules could lead to the unfair firing of legal workers. The vast majority of the discrepancies in the Social Security Administration's database — more than 70 percent of the 17.8 million discrepancies, according to a 2006 report by the SSA's Office of the Inspector General — involve native-born U.S. citizens, the lawsuit notes.

You have to remember, the AFL/CIO and the ACLU both support liberal democrats, and their voter base needs to be expanded..

WHY? Because that's what the ACLU does. They aren't really about protecting the Constitution, they're about obstructing justice and fighting the government...what the ACLU would really love is anarchy.
