i woudlnt want to be in a vegetative state permantly if i was on a ventilator IF only it was temporary and they knew id get better i would have it in papers and if i wasnt then i would have that in papers too!

I only wish the GREAT Dr.Death would have been able to help my daughter who died last year. She started out with a melanoma which spread to her brain, every organ she had,and all over her skin. She was in great pain for a year. If I could have gotten her out of this pain with the help of Dr,Kevorkain I would have used him with no second thoughts. If he could have showed me how to do it I would have done it and thanked him for his help. Unless you are the one in pain or the ones who had to watch, month after month, your daughter in so much pain that she couldn't stand to even be touched by her 2 young children, then No One should speak against Dr. Death.

I had lost my first wife to terminal breast cancer, and I had to beg the pain specialist to help her because of all the suffering she had to endure, and nothing helped her pain, until God finally stepped in and took her. I am a firm believer in what DR. Kevorkian did. People do not realize what it is like to just lay there dying and suffering. I saw more than I have ever wanted too when it comes to a terminal illness, so I agree if the person wants to go, then help them to go.

I think what he did was no big deal. If they wanted to die and he just helped them out of their misery he did a service. Him being convicted and serving time was an unjust. My mom was deathly ill and tried to kill herself cause she was in such pain and she knew she would not get better. Dr. Kevorkian if he had been able to help her do a graceful way and painless way to pass on I would have been sad to lose her but would have understood. I hated to see her in pain. She died a horrible painful death when it did come. I prayed to God that she would pass on just to take her pain away.

I agree he painlessly let them end their life, I mean should you honestly have to suffer the indignity of a nursing home or being on a ventilator and having your family go through the suffering of watching you die. We don't choose to be born, but if your suffering a disease that is incurable and you get worse you have the right to want to go. I constantly tell my husband not to let me live that way. He even put them through a psychiatric evaluation before proceeding.

YES.
My Mother had terminal lung cancer (after breast and ovarian cancer). In her last few weeks, her Doctor told HER how to up the dosage on her morphine drip, and "warned" her what level would cause respiratory arrest.
One day, Mom informed Dad it was just too much... family gathered, and Mom upped her dosage. An hour later, she passed in comfort and peace.
I hate to say it, but MUCH of the resistance to assisted-death comes from the HEALTH-CARE Industry who want to suck every possible dime out of our insurance policies.

He helped people who were terminally ill, end their pain and suffering. And in a way, he was doing them a favor, because there was no more hope for them.

Life, to say the least, is a personal matter, and choice. No one, but myself, has the right to say whether I should live or die. Yes, I agree.

I do. I watched my Grandmother die of cancer. It was a long slow painful death. It was humiliating for her. I think when you are diagnosed with something like that, it should be your right. I think what he did was wonderful.

I agree. If a person is suffering- they have a right to decide what to do to end that suffering.
