My husband and I are expecting a baby, if it's a girl we want to name it after him. His name is Tim. We are thinking about Timber, not too sure about Timberly. Any sugestions? Middle name too. Our last name is hispanic.

Thank you!

HE wants the baby to have his name in some fashion. If you don't like it well, that's your opinion. All others thanks for your input I like a few of the names ya'll came up with.

I'm sorry, but Timber should immediately be followed by the sound of a tree falling, and Timberly sounds like Kimberly with a horrid cold.

There are actual feminine forms of Tim, you know. Timothea or Timotha, for instance. And the first has the added bonus of not having to call your daughter Tim or Timmy and add to the confusion of having two in one household ... you could call her Thea. ;) I believe Timotea would be the Spanish form, by the way.

You could also use an unrelated, but similar, name in his honor.

Timea
Tamsin
Thomasina
Tomasa (also Spanish)
Tamar or Tamara
Temperance
Tempest
Tasnim

You get the idea. But please don't force a name you don't love just because you feel she should be named for your husband. She'd probably much rather have a name you -- and she -- actually likes. Many cultures commonly use the same initials as a loved one in their honor, without having to use the same exact name (or even a form of it). Perhaps that would give you some more flexibility in choosing a name you truly love and still having it be "after" your husband?

Good luck!

Timara (i like this one the best!)
Timberly
Timeka
Timesha
Not Timber that sounds like a tree falling and then he/she could get made fun of at school. That would be bad!

Just stick with Tim~ I wouldn't use Timber or Timberly...

EDIT: oh, I thought you were having a boy....
Why not just save "Tim" for a boy, if you are planning to have more children.

Timberly sounds kinda strange, everyone will wind up calling her Kimberly by mistake. Make it unique, teasing about names is not such an issue anymore, strange names have become cool. Go with Tim, Timmy, or Tym perhaps

If it's a girl call it Tim? She'll get teased. My sister having a boy and the name they picked is tyler james.
If you want tim in it maybe change it to Kim.
THATS A girl name.

Timber is a cute name, though she may get some teasing in school, asking if her father is a lumberjack. :\ A couple of other suggestions: Timera/Timerra, Timette (feminine version of little Tim? lol) Congratulations and good luck! :)
