it really depends where you are, i find it interesting that all the areas experiencing heat waves are the typical ones lending no real evidence to global warming charges, though i wish they did so that i could have some evidence. maybe if its like 70 degrees average on the east coast in late october, but idk temps are so weird,
its like on the news with the record temps, in 1921 it was 105 degrees on august 4 or something and the low was 21 meanwhile that day it was 68, i mean what were the people in 1921 thinking, it might have been scary if they gave a crap
so just to wrap up, i dont know when the summer heat will cool down and no one does! except maybe meteorologists and people who study wind patterns :(

I have plotted the average temperature for every date of the year for several localities and I find that on most of these charts, the maximum occurrs around July 21-28, with an average of ~July 25-26 for the absolute peak of the curve. However, the drop off after the peak is very slight until you get into late August, when the curve really takes a nose dive. In fact, in many areas this year, we will go from 100F highs to below freezing lows in just the next 8-9 weeks.
So to answer your question precisely, we have already begun to to see the summer heat begin to cool down. It IS September now, you know.
