Put your mixture onto a piece of paper, and use a magnet to remove the iron fillings. Once you have removed the iron, you must add warm water to your mixture of copper and sugar. (Sugar dissolves easier in warm water than cool water.) You can then filter the dissolved solution using a funnel and filter paper. Line the filter with filter paper and pour the copper and dissolved sugar into the filter. The dissolved sugar should go through the filter, leaving copper in the paper. You should also catch the sugar-water solution in a container (like a beaker). Boil off the water, and you will be left with sugar in the beaker.

First, you should separate the iron filings out. Use a magnet wrapped in a zip lock bag or something like that.

Then to separate the sugar from the copper filings, put water into the mixture and stir it until the sugar has dissolved. You can strain out the copper filings and let the water evaporate to leave you with the sugar.

Use a magnet to separate the Iron filings from those of the copper (and from the sugar).
Drop the rest into warm water and stir to dissolve the sugar.
Filter the copper filings out of the solution and dry them off.
(If tou want the solid sugar back, heat the remaining solution to evaporate the water and leave the sugar).

First use a magnet to obtain all of the iron filings. Then add some water to the mix to dissolve the sugar. Filter the solution to obtain the copper then let boil the sugar water to crystallize the sugar. Thats how I would do it.

Pass a magnet over to attract the iron filings, then throw the rest into water - as the sugar will dissolve, and then you can dry out the remaining copper - unless anyone else has any better ideas.....

This happens often, especially if the couple is young and just starting out in their lives and careers. Assuming the distance is great and the time, like University or a new Job, is just as great, It's really asking to much, to expect the love to last. Married people get divorced all the time, and they live side by side, which of course, may be the reason for the divorce. lol Other couples split up, love sadly, for most of us, is not eternal, but often fleeting. Although while we are in love, we believe it to be so. We all need company and companionship, and other people close to us. In long distance, you can always stay in touch, these days, but you still need some special person in your life, unless you intend to stay at home, with a good book or TV etc. Not the best way to spend ones life.
