I just changed the oil in my GMC Sierra 2003 [1500]. I bleed the oil out, changed hte filter, and put in 5 quarts of oil in the truck. I turned the truck on and let it idol for five monutes. I then came back and saw there was some oil comming out of the cap and now theres smoke coming out of the engine. What could this possibly be? I put a new filter on it, lubed it and put it on tight. I did hte same for the cap.

Should i just go get it professionaly done and should it fix the problem? I used w5-30 catrol.

Did you drain out all the oil? I don't know where the oil filter is located but perhaps you over tightened it, cracking the seal and now oil is leaking on the engine causing smoke. Check the oil filter seal, make sure you did not over fill it or spill some oil that is now burning off.

What do you mean "I bleed the oil out" Did you remove the drain plug on the oil pan and drain it.

Nahhh, don't worry, you have bad oil scraper rings and compression rings on you r pistons, yo have worn them out faste then their useful life. Change th rings, and you will not see smoke agin, I promise! at least for at least 20'000 miles
