Welcome2Womanhood!
Relax sweetie! Just go to your mom and explain to her you have something personal to speak with her about, odds are that she knows what you are talking about. Remember, too, she has been in your shoes before and had plenty of questions and, she will be so proud you have come to speak to her!
Begin now to wear and/or carry protection with you in the event of an accident away from home.
Use the link below to access an online calendar to track your periods, it will even send you an email of when to expect your next one.
Keep in mind though, it can take up to a year or more before your periods become regulated. Don't be alarmed if you skip a month, two, or three; then again, you may have your periods...it is different for each woman.

A lot of girls are scared and confused when they first get their periods. If you have no pain (except maybe for abdominal cramping), is probably is your period. Just get some feminine pads or try using tampons, & always have backup ones with you. To tell your mom, just tell her you want to ask her about periods (or your "monthly friend", or "Aunt Flow," or whatever you call it), and during the conversation tell her that you think you got yours. It's good that she's a woman, because she'll understand.
And lucky you, you got this several days before school starts, so it'll probably be either just light flow or done by Tuesday!

Just tell your mom you got your period, it's no big deal. She's been through this too, like every other woman in the world. No one at school will ever know that you're on your period as long as you're wearing a pad or tampon to prevent leaking, but yes..i agree have a jacket or sweatshirt to tie around your waist just incase you do leak. It will save you from a lot of embarrassment!

it happens to all girls. just tell your mom and go to the drugstore and get some pads. and if you get cramps or aches, then get midol for teens or use ibuprofen. o and dont wear a skirt to school unless ur not on ur period. ur period just means that ur growing up and ur ready to have a baby (but dont get pregnant at such a young age) and all girls go thru it, its nothing to be ashamed of. i know when i first got mine, telling my mom was a little embarrassing but she was young once, so she knows what ur going thru.

just tell your mom you need pads, god. this isn't hard. just remember EVERY single woman on earth has gone through this, she will not, i repeat NOT think your weird. unless she hates your or your disfunctional or something... just tell her you got your period and need pads.
btw, curling in a ball isn't going to help cramping. excerise will. run, jog, walk do anything to keep in motion, trust me, your period will feel much better. and i promise, no one will know you have yours unless you tell them... or it leaks through your pants... in which case, always have a sweater tied around your waist.
